The Spectrum TG42PD takes everything that made the TG40PD a favourite and adds more muscle. Its 139cc petrol engine delivers extra power for thicker, longer grass, yet still fires up easily on a smooth recoil pull — no cables, no charging, just mow.

Self-propelled drive does the pushing for you, so a 40cm-wide pass over lawns of up to 400m² feels effortless rather than a workout. Large rear wheels and premium ball-bearing mounted wheels keep it rolling smoothly over uneven ground — a genuine step up from the bush-mounted wheels found on cheaper machines, and one that pays off in durability season after season.

Dial in the finish you want with a single-lever height adjustment offering seven positions from 25mm to 75mm — drop low for a neat summer striped look, or raise the cut to keep the lawn healthy through dry spells. Clippings collect in the generous 40-litre grass box, so you spend less time emptying and more time mowing; or fit the included mulch plug and return fine clippings to the lawn as a natural feed.

The tough steel cutter deck shrugs off knocks and stone strikes, while soft-grip handles adjust to your height and fold flat for compact storage in the shed or garage. At just 29kg the TG42PD is light on its feet for a petrol mower, and an Operator Presence Control stops the blade and engine the moment you release the handle.
