Chipperfield T16-38HSD Side-Discharge Lawn Tractor Hydrostatic Transmission

The Chipperfield T16-38HSD is a side-discharge lawn tractor built for gardeners maintaining large areas of grass where collection simply isn't needed. Its dedicated side-discharge deck handles longer, thicker growth with ease, casting the clippings evenly back onto the lawn to break down and feed the turf naturally.

Power comes from a robust 449cc EV450-B single-cylinder engine with a hard-wearing cast-iron cylinder sleeve, built for long service life and paired with a 6.3-litre fuel tank to keep you mowing for longer between fill-ups. A modern hydrostatic transmission does away with manual gears entirely — a single foot pedal gives smooth, fully variable control up to 9 km/h forward and 5 km/h in reverse.

Despite its capability, the T16-38HSD stays remarkably agile. A tight 600mm turning radius lets you work close to borders and steer neatly around beds and obstacles. The 95cm stamped-steel twin-blade deck delivers a clean, uniform cut, with electronic PTO engagement letting you start and stop the blades safely from the seat and a six-stage height adjustment from 25mm to 100mm.

Weighing a manageable 177kg, it offers reassuring stability without over-compacting your turf. High-traction tyres (15" front / 18" rear), an integrated hour meter for easy servicing, an adjustable seat and a protective front bumper make it comfortable, practical and ready for regular work on demanding lawns.
